About Me

  • About Me: Just a 25 year old trying to find her way. Only five years ago I felt like I was on track and had my life under control. It's funny how life (and our perception of it) can change so easily. There is another blog floating around xanga that I use...or used...I haven't quite decided yet. It might stay there for those days on which I absolutely need to rant and rave. Anyway, I made this new blog to match the new person that I am going to attempt to be. Someone who is more joyful, laid back, and far less apathetic. Hence the user name MissLadyJoyFace. "Miss Lady" being the love of my life's favorite pet name for me and "Joy Face" for the way I hope to become. This should be quite the adventure.

  • Favorite Movies: Benny and Joon, The Princess Bride, Frankenweenie, Monty Python's The Meaning of Life, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Edward Scissorhands, Garden State, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Sleepy Hollow, Big Fish, Don Juan DeMarco, Beetle Juice, Cry-Baby...this is another one that could go on and on and on... you get the point.

Books

  • Favorite Books: Lies My Teacher Told Me, Neverwhere (there are more, I just can't remember their names and I'm feeling lazy)
  • Favorite Authors: Neil Gaimen (again, laziness)

Music

  • Favorite Artists: Muse, Motion City Soundtrack, Rage Against the Machine, Tool, Bob Marley, Damian Marley, Black Sabath, System of a Down, Flobots, Relient K, Matisyahu, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby...I can't think of any others at the moment.
  • Favorite Albums: Black Holes and Revolations (Muse)
  • Favorite Genre: Probably punk rock...I like at least a little of almost everything (besides country...I hate country music).
  • Favorite Songs: In Like a Lion (Relient K), Starlight (Muse), King Without a Crown (Matisyahu), B.Y.O.B. (System of a Down), and the list goes on.
  • Favorite Lyrics: All of "Starlight" by Muse, but, if I had to chose a specific part of that song, the following would be it: My life, you electify my life.   • Songs for Roadtrips: High of 75 (Relient K)
  • Songs I hate: Country and most pop that is out there today (although the Flobots are pretty big right now, which is great).
  • Guilty Pleasure: Hotel California (The Eagles) and Piano Man (Billy Joel)
  • Songs I repeat the most: In Like a Lion (Relient K) , Starlight and Blackholes and Revolations (both by Muse)
  • Band I wish I was in: Muse. They are so innovative and amazing. The complexity of their music is mind blowing.
