The first was made at least three years ago and deleted by choice, the other was made not long ago and is still there, but unused. I created this one because my last one was full of nothing but negativity and selfishness. All I ever seemed to do was complain about life. Finally, I decided to try being positive and post only positive things, which is why I haven't posted much of anything (besides answering questions) lately. The past two days, especially, have been rough for me.

I was ready to run away (as I am known to do when things get too personal with people) from the most beautiful, meaningful, and emotional relationship that I have ever had. It still amazes me that I was able to give the relationship a chance in the first place, I knew the potential was there before it began. My stupidity became apparent after randomly reading a few blogs belonging to a few wise, young women. I feel so much better in many ways and much worse for the fact that I was ever so stupid. Another example of me-ism and selfishness? Most likely.

After giving it some thought, all of this was likely because I had given him the power to destroy me. We have exchanged our deepest, darkest secrets, our most private thoughts, and most intimate moments. Although he has that power, he is not capable of using it. In fact, I am the one who is most capable of destroying myself and I nearly did today. Because of reading those wise words, I am not going to give up on what I have with him and it seems completely ridiculous that I had even a passing thought to do so.

Although you girls most likely will never read this (and if you do, you know who you are), I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your words. They have saved me literally and metaphorically. Thank you.

Continued Education

So, I'm thinking about going back to school. I tried college about four years ago and ended up seriously over loading myself and nearly going mad. Twenty-one credit hours, working more than forty hours a week, practicing at least ten instruments (half an hour each) every day, doing home work, being very involved in my former church, walking my dog, and still managing to have a social life can get to ya. I usually only got a few hours of sleep on Saturday night because that was the only night I had off. The majority of the night was spent with friends, the rest sleeping until I got up at seven every Sunday for church. I did manage to take a nap every now and then on the couch in the band room or an over stuffed chair in one of my old professor's offices between classes.

To all those who are in college or about to go to college...don't over load yourself like that. Trust me.

Anyway, I'm thinking about getting a Bachelors in History and a minor in either Journalism or Political Science. Perhaps both.

What could I possibly do with that? Write American History books that teach real American History and, perhaps, get over my fear of becoming a teacher and become one for a steady income, get more involved in politics and understand it better...perhaps write other books about our History, learning from it and using that knowledge today. Another book about how moronic Bush and his administration are. My parents wouldn't have a choice; if I were to write it, then they would have to read it. Maybe then they would see what Bush really is and what the Iraq War is really about. I had thought of more, but I don't recall what they were just now.

What is one thing you find yourself doing that you promised yourself you never would?
I promised myself that I would never fall madly in love with someone. Yeah, I was one of those who said over and over again, "I am never going to fall in love and I will never get married." Okay, I'm not married yet, but that is something I can now see myself doing when I never had before. Giving someone so much power over me was always a terrifying thought and, when I realized that I did love him, letting him know was the most terrifying moment of my life. Sometimes I deeply hate myself for falling in love, but I wouldn't change a thing. Over the past nine months I have found myself doing many things that I promised myself I would never do. Of course, all of them are things people only do when they're in love.

I just answered this Featured Question, you can answer it too!

What steps can average people take to live a "greener" life?
My boyfriend and I use as little electricity as
possible. We don't use a drier for our laundry, instead we use a clothes
line. Sure, sometimes it can be a hassle when it's raining a lot, but
it's worth it. It helps the environment and gives one a change to enjoy
the out doors. I always look forward to hanging up my clothes because
it's so relaxing and a great chance to meditate and do a chore at the same time.
All other appliances are unplugged or power-strips are switched off when we
aren't using them.

We don't use lights in the house until it gets dark and only when we must after
dark, we recycle everything we can, and use products that are made in ways that
use as little bit of our resources and energy as possible. We use the air-conditioner
or fans as little as possible. We also buy as much as we can of stuff grown or
made in the US. We prefer to support the companies in the states and
refuse to buy products that are made by children. If we can walk
somewhere or ride our bikes, we do. That is something that can also save
loads of money. When we go for walks, we pick up litter and recycle what
we can of it. We don't use hair dryers or aerosol cans. My boyfriend is a vegetarian (beef packing
plants and such make a lot of waste) and I rarely eat meat…maybe once a week,
but even that is rare. I can’t think of
anything else because it has become a regular part of my life and I do those
things without thinking about them, but there is a lot more that one can do to “go
green”.
